Dr. Buckner PhotoDr. Buckner has more than 37 years of transportation safety experience. In 2013, he and a colleague combined their expertise and co-founded Safety Management Systems, LLC in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Buckner holds a Commercial Pilot certificate, and has logged more than 3,500 hours in several aircraft. During his tenure at a Fortune 500 transportation company, he worked as a manager in Transportation Operations, Industrial Engineering, and Sort Operations. In the government sector, he has received training in Root Cause Analysis, Safety Manager Systems, (SMS) Human Factors in Aircraft Accident Investigation, Advance Aircraft Accident Investigation, and Crew Resource Management (CRM). He is an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Aeronautics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University teaching courses in Human Factors, Risk Analysis, Aircraft Accident Investigation, Aircraft Crash and Emergency Management, Aviation Safety Program Management, Aircraft Crash Survival Analysis and Design, Aviation Aerospace System Safety, and System Safety Management. He is a contributing editor to Solving the Puzzle with Management Science, 5th Edition, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, published October 2011
