Dr. McGibbon currently serves as the DMD Chapter President at NCU. He has a strong desire to continue serving in this volunteer position to help provide scholarships, webinars, awards, mentorship, and leadership within this most prestigious honor society. He is a highly decorated retired US Navy Officer / disabled war veteran who served in the Gulf and Balkan Wars.
Dr. McGibbon founded/cofounded/ led successful businesses. In his current position, he serves as the CEO and cofounder of Circuit Electric Solar (CES), LLC, a solar installation company located in Florida and South Carolina. Prior to CES, he served as the CEO and President of the Virgin Islands Next Generation Network (viNGN), a broadband fiber optics network company, with offices located throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI). As the viNGN CEO, he established a free public digital literacy program (President Obama is a graduate of this program), and 33 free public computer centers with over 350 computers and printers.
He also worked as a Visiting Industry Professor at the National Defense University (NDU) teaching 19 courses in IT, finance, and business administration. He has taught undergraduate, graduate and doctoral courses in business, technology, and engineering at several universities throughout America and Europe. As an author, he has been published in several magazines and journals articles, as well as books (published book chapters). He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration, D.B.A. (Honor graduate), M.S. in Strategic Leadership (#1 Distinguished Graduate), M.S. in IT Mgt, 18 graduate certificates, B.S. in Pre-Law, and is a Harvard University Senior Executive Fellow.
He earned the highest civilian volunteer and lifetime achievement awards within the U.S. government, which was presented by the Governor of the USVI and hometown Historical Society President in 2016 and 2018. As the founder and Executive Director of the McGibbon Foundation, he has provided financial assistance to underprivileged US citizens of all ethnic backgrounds. He volunteered countless hours as a Honor Society Chapter President, PTA High School President, International Baccalaureate Chapter President, Habitat for Humanity volunteer, Meals on Wheels volunteer, Rotary Club Leadership Program President, and Jaycees volunteer.
He is an avid road cyclist, guitarist and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
